Another one of those frequently asked questions from new contractors, “What will I take home inside of IR35?” Honestly, this will depend on how you choose to work,
depending on if you choose to use a limited company or an Umbrella company.

If you choose to use a limited company, things can get more complicated as you have all the usual overheads involved in running a limited company such as Business Bank account fees, Company insurance, accountancy fees to take into account yet you the options for paying yourself are more limited than usual when calculating the return from the contract.

When a contract is deemed inside of IR35 your options with your limited company become slightly more restricted as the majority of your income (95%) is taxable and paid to you as a Deemed Salary. The remaining 5% allowance is intended to cover your business running costs. Other expenses and profit extraction routes such as dividends are not available to you.
