Following the delay of the IR35 legislation in 2020, it came as no surprise that there was no further delay to the IR35 reform mentioned by the Chancellor Rishi Sunak in this months Budget (3rd March 2021)
This removes all doubts that the IR35 reform will be entering the private sector on the 6th April 2021. Therefore, if you are a contractor in the private sector is mean that there is a little over 2 weeks to get you affairs in order.
Don’t be at risk
If you continue to work through your limited company for your contracting past the 6th April you run the risk of being caught by the IR35 legislation.
Should you be caught by IR35 your client or agency will have to deduct full PAYE on your full contract amount leaving you with a net amount known a deemed payment. You will have little or no flexibility with regards expenses or how you choose to renumerate yourself from your business.
