With all that happened with the world in 2020 I think we were all looking forward to a bigger and better 2021!  Unfortunately, it’s not started in the way we’d like, another national lockdown whilst understandable is really hard to take.

For UK contractors working in the private sector 2021 was always going to be a year that brought change and fresh challenges.  However, if you are stuck at home now really is the time to start thinking about your future contracting and the IR35 changes that are dropping in April.  Leaving it last minute along with “everybody else” IS very likely going to cause an issue going forward.  So if you are in a situation where you are at home looking for something to do then why not take the chance to start shopping around and building a relationship with what will ultimately be your employer post IR35 reforms?  During this quiet time an Umbrella like Quad has much more time to speak to potential contractors, explaining the process whilst hopefully putting your mind at ease with regard to any doubts you may have.  Come the end of March and early April we can see things being much more hectic.

Finally, once again a Happy New Year, lets all stay safe, get Covid beat and out of the way then get on with making 2021 a huge success!
